The Lac des Aires is located in the Cirque de Troumouse, in the northern slope of the Pyrenees in the Hautes-Pyrenées Department. This cirque has a length of about 4 k, being one of the biggest in the Pyrenees. The highest summit of the cirque is La Munia (3133m)
